June 28th Liturgy

Call to Worship
I will sing about the wonders of your love forever, O God!
I will tell everyone I meet about your faithfulness to all generations!
I will declare that your love stands firm,
that your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens above!
Blessed are those who know you as their God,
for they walk in the light of your presence!
Lord let our souls rise to meet you as the day rises to meet the sun.
Glory to The Father and to The Son and to The Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Song: Praise to The Lord, The Almighty

Call to Confession
As we come before God today, we can be honest about the brokenness in the world and the brokenness
in ourselves. And we can come before him today because we know that he meets us in love, grace, and
mercy. When I say the words, “Lord hear our prayer,” you may respond, “Lord, have mercy.”

Loving God,
in Jesus you offer life to the world
and love to its people.
When we see life only for ourselves,
forgive us.
Lord, hear our prayer. Lord have mercy.

Help us to hear your transforming love
speaking to us of respect, dignity and worth,
telling us that we are loved
and that we are to love one another.
Lord hear our prayer. Lord have mercy.

In the knowledge of this love
work through us to bring your justice to the world,
in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Lord, hear our prayer. Lord have mercy.
Amen.

Words of Assurance
I will trust in your unfailing love;
I will rejoice because you have rescued me!
I will sing to the Lord,
because he has been so good to me.
Friends, may God’s peace be with you.
And also with you.

Living the Way of Jesus
As followers of Jesus, our lives are shaped and formed by his love, by his peace, by his life. If you desire
to live a life of love, hear these words. This is what love looks like. Love is patient, love is kind.

Prayer (Ending with The Lord’s Prayer)

Sermon Text: Psalm 23
Title: God is With Us in The Valley

Psalm 23: A Psalm of David
1  The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2      He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3      he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
    for his name’s sake.
4  Even though I walk
    through the darkest valley, [a]
I will fear no evil,
    for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.
5  You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
6  Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
    forever.

Benediction
